The two books from which the early wills in this website were transcribed contain thousands of Somerset wills. We have only transcribed those wills that either were written by individuals living in Crewkerne or by those being buried in Crewkerne. We have not included those will where individuals were merely leaving money to the church of Crewkerne (usually among several churches).

We highly recommended these two books of will to all interested researchers. Because of copyright laws, we are not including full and complete transcripts of the text here. Instead, we have listed the various names occuring in the wills and relevant dates. You may contact us for more information or for look-ups of any will listed here. However, for those finding an ancestor, we highly recommend obtaining a copy of the relevant book.
